Wishcasting Wednesday: "Home"

Bienvenue de France, Jamie! Today for Wishcasting Wednesday, she asks:
"WHAT DO YOU WISH FOR YOUR HOME?"

the outside of our beautiful house (and Dottie Doo too!)
 Oh my.
Where DO I begin with THIS one?!
I know I should say things like "I wish for our home to be a safe haven",
or "I wish for our home to be filled with love and laughter"
or "I wish for our home to be a gathering place for friends and family"...
And it is not that I do NOT wish for all of those things for our home,
but honestly, those are just NOT the first things that I thought of when I read this weeks question.

Since it is rather exhausting, exasperating & probably downright BORING for my readers,
I will try to succinctly sum up what came to mind as I pondered this wish...
I WISH FOR (the interior of) OUR HOME
TO NO LONGER BE
 "UNDER CONSTRUCTION/REMODELING/REPAIR/
UPDATING/IMPROVEMENT"
(along with any other descriptive words which basically mean
holes in walls, wires sticking out randomly, pipes showing, half painted rooms, water shut off,
no heat, scrap wood laying around, plastering & sanding mess every other day, tools everywhere,
art, photos & knick knacks packed away for safekeeping,
and a myriad of other seemingly endless annoying and stressful and ugly side effects
which are part and parcel of making our already beautiful home into our dream home.)

That being said, my husband is an amazingly talented and capable man.
Who has been working on making this house into a dream home for over 15 years now.
I have only dealt with it for 3 and a half years...so far.
Things ARE coming together.
Progress IS being made.
MAJOR improvements in infastructure, decor, design and overall awesomeness have occured
and continue to manifest as he commits to doing all of the hard work necessary
which he is doing ALL BY HIMSELF.

So I try not to complain or freak out or get too, um, crazy,
about the incredible mess which our desired results require.

But sometimes I do get overwhelmed and discouraged and, well, crazy,
dealing with it day in and day out.

So that is my wish for our home.
Basically, to just be able to ENJOY it.
In all of it's beautiful eventual outcome. But right now, mess and all, I suppose.
(but preferably just the normal type mess of dishes in the sink
and not walls torn down and an inch of plaster dust covering every surface...!)

Do you have a wish for your home?
Happy Me-Laurie Z!

  1. As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also Laurie. It's always nice to have a house feel like a home. :)
