Doorways & Steps

Happy Wednesday everyone! Only 2 more days left on my "family" vacation by the beach! I have had so much fun watching my almost 3 year old grandson Ryatt blossom into the beach bum we knew he just HAD to be! It's in his genes after all, having great great grandparents who lived here in Sarasota for over 30 years and passed down their love for this area to my mom, me, & my daughter! This is his 3rd visit here and that gene has finally kicked in on this trip! The Tonka dump truck I found at a nearby thirft shop has proven to be the best $1.99 I ever spent...he can (and has!) spend hours filling it up with sand & dumping it out, filling it up & dumping it out, lol! I am sad to realize we are down to just 2 days left together and then I wonl;t get to see them again until probably late January...but am also ready to get back home to my much missed husband, doggies, own bed...and COOLER WEATHER!!!! Lol...yes, this Midwest gal has become quite the hot weather wimp since living in the Pacific Northwest for the past 4+ years!

I really love how my Wednesday blog participation prompts often seem to merge together so similiarly, as they do again this week with the themes of DOORWAYS & STEP...

For this weeks 52 Photos Project, Bella asks us to share our images of
DOORWAYS

me, door, awning, brick building
Salem, Oregon   July 2012

Doors/doorways are one of my very favorite and  recurring photographic subjects!
I am not really sure why, I suppose I  am just intriqued at the thought of what may lie
just beyond the facade of an athstetically pleasing, interesting or
unusual door which catches my attention!
In this image, I was struck by the quiet unassuming blending in of the door,
the lines of the awning stripes alongside the rectangular layout of the wall bricks
and ground tiles, and the surreal inclusion of my shadow in the small spot of sunshine,
which almost looks to be painted on the wall!

And this week for Wishcasting Wednesday,  Jamie asks us:
"WHAT STEP DO YOU WISH TO TAKE?"
(Google image)
I wish to take a step towards establishing a better understanding of and connection to/with those
spirit and nature guides and guardians which are all around us.
Angels, animals, faeries, goddesses, plants and elements...
enlightened beings whose presence and power I believe in and feel...
but wish to become more of a force and friendship in my daily life.

Have a wonderful week!
Happy Me-Laurie Z!
