AEDM Days 4-9!

I know, I know...I went from day 3 to day 9...but I WARNED you that having my son here visiting would be a (VERY WONDERFUL!) deterrant to my normal days of surfing the web, writing, creating, reading, & various "la-dee-dah-ness" that is my normal day!

So as all 6 ft. 5 inches of him still slumbers on the couch (at 11:56 a.m.),
I thought I would try to sneak in a bit of catching up here...

We have been exploring the city and all of it's eclectic & cool neighborhoods everyday since he arrived, so of course, it is the perfect opportunity for me to do one of my very favorite happy-making things, and take tons 'o photos!

So today I am sharing 6 of my fave images taken over the past few days, which I am going to declare effectively (and shamefully easily!) catches me up for all of the days I have missed in the AEDM (Art Every Day Month) challenge! (or at least alieviates some of my guilt!)

I don't know about you, but I see a sweet little heart in the middle of this tree trunk in Pioneer Square...

Took Trevor to a skatepark under the Alaskan Way viaduct about an hour after his plane landed in Seattle!
I can still picture his beaming 8 year old face when his grandma got him his first skateboard for Christmas!

Spotted this pretty little orphan shoe on Broadway in the Capitol Hill area.
So honestly...is it just me, or does anyone else have a soft spot for random articles of clothing in random places?!

I wonder who came up with the idea of standing on the roof of this downtown building to pour gallons of multi-colored paint down the side!
Gotta admit, I love the way it looks!
(plus there are pretty pools of splattered paint drops on the parking lot pavement below too!)

My handsome boy in the city I have quickly come to love (and call home!)

A nighttime shot in the U-District...loved the odd lighting combinations and composition of interesting shapes.

Ok, I feel better now! Time to go attempt to wake up my little boy...the other day he asked me why I let him sleep so late, and I replied that it was because I had to be a "mean mommy" and make him get up early for so many years, so I just wanted to be nice & let him sleep in now, because he is on vacation here after all!

Which of course, makes this mom of a sleepyhead a very:

Happy Me-Laurie Z!

  4. Big thank you hugs for commenting on my pix! I DO try to see beauty everywhere and once you get into the habit of opening your eyes and heart to doing so, it can be found in the simpliest (and sometimes oddest!)things!
