Growth & Start

I am still on my Oregon Adventure...! Spent a too quick 24 hours in Portland last week, then 4 and a half days at the amazing Encausticamp in the Williamette Valley of Salem, Oregon and Monday I started out on a 6 day drive heading North up the coast of Oregon! I have seen some wonderous sights already and am having such a great time just driving, stopping, photographing, browsing shops and marveling at the beautiful and dramatic scenery!

It's Wednesday so that means time for a photo & a wish!

This weeks 52 Photos Project Gallery 13 photo theme is
"what is growing in your world?  maybe something in your garden, a flower pot on your window sill. or maybe you're noticing a different kind of growth...emotional, spiritual, physical.  consider growth in your life right now and offer us a little peek..."

Right now, especially, this image represents "growth" to me, because I am committing myself to begin a practice of creating with a medium which fascinates, but thus far, eludes me-encaustics. Having been a photographer for 30+ years
and a "dabbler" in many other mediums and art forms just recently, it is
 v----e----r----y frustrating & difficult to my (im)patience and "high-expectations"
ego-self to have such a deep burning desire and passion to express myself in ways other than photography (which comes quite easily & naturally to me)...and then feel like a complete and utter failure when I attempt to do so. I anticipate much growth as I pursue this new-to-me art form, both in my artwork and my most inner self...and I am already experiencing strong, annoying, distressful and almost debilitating growth pains from just my few days at Encausticamp...*sigh* (did I mention how IMPATIENT I am...?!)

Today on Wishcasting Wednesday, Jamie asks us:
Oh how I love the way these two Wednesday "challenges" often seem to go hand-in-hand with one another as far as the themes and answers!
Obviously, I wish to start BEING MORE PATIENT and supportive and encouraging and ACCEPTING OF MYSELF, my limitations and my beginners status when it comes to my creative expression in a medium I am unfamiliar and a total "newbie" at!!

I am now off to start my day of exploring! I am taking the "Three Capes Scenic Loop" drive today
and am really excited to see the 3rd lighthouse of my trip!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Happy Me-Laurie Z!
