Wishcasting Wednesday-"Rise Above"

Today is Wishcasting Wednesday at Jamie Ridler Studios, and this weeks prompt is

"WHAT DO YOU WISH TO RISE ABOVE?"

I have a constant underlying fear of
"something bad happening".
I assume that this is true for most of us, to some degree or another.
On one hand, I have no valid reason for this fear.
One the other hand, of course I do.
Everyone does.
Bad things happen all the time.
To everyone.
From devastating natural disasters to unimaginable chance circumstances.
Maybe my fear is due to growing up with a policeman daddy who impressed upon me at a very tender age:
"Anything can happen. Never ever say or think that it can't or won't".
He knew, he had seen it, he lived it everyday in his job.
Maybe my fear is based on the bad things that have already happened to me.
Things I never expected.
Things I more or less brought upon myself.
Bad things, either way.
Bad things I obviously survived.
I never felt that I had any other option, but to survive.
But I like to think of myself as not just a "survivor",
but more as a life enthusiast.
An active participator.
Open eyed, open minded, open hearted.
This underlying fear has increased lately.
For good reason.
(which I won't go into here)
I wish to rise above this fear.
I wish to at least temper it with the weapons of
faith, trust, joy, hope, love, knowledge and maybe even acceptance.
And belief.
Belief that despite past experiences, despite fears, despite the possibility of
"something bad happening",
today
right now
in this moment
all
is
well.

  4. Love the way you wrote this post! Something about one word per line at the end really drives your point home while reinforcing the idea in your own mind.
As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.
